Joe Perry questions demand for new Aerosmith material
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has cast doubt on plans by the band to record new material.
Perry has previously suggested that, following their current tour, the band would head to the recording studio to put together their first album for six years.
But in an interview with the Guardian, the rock legend questioned whether or not there is demand among fans for new material.
"Until a couple of years ago, fans would ask for more records like the old records, but that's all fallen off," he told the news provider.
"I think of some of the songs I've written or co-written and I think, why should I bother trying to top that? It's like Leonardo Da Vinci painting the Madonna again. Why should I paint the Madonna again?"
The new tour follows a troubled period for the band during which lead singer Steve Tyler quit only to later rejoin.
Aerosmith play the O2 Arena in London on June 15th.
