Julie Andrews 'nervous' ahead of concert tour
Julie Andrews has admitted that she is incredibly nervous ahead of her upcoming London concert.
Tickets for An Evening with Julie Andrews, due to take place at the O2 Arena in London on May 8th, are already on sale.
But the 74-year-old actress and singer revealed in an interview with the Telegraph that there was a time 12 years ago when she believed she would never sing again.
Speaking to the newspaper, the Sound of Music star highlighted the anguish she faced in 1997 after complications during the removal of a non-cancerous polyp from her vocal chords damaged her singing voice.
"I don't sing the way I used to, so I'm doing everything I can to put the word out that they shouldn't expect that," she told the newspaper.
Andrews also revealed her nerves ahead of the O2 Arena show, her first in the city for more than 30 years.
"Apparently it's selling well, which is wonderful and I think I have a lot of friends, family and fans coming out for it."
Andrews, who has been performing for more than 60 years, won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1964 for her role as Mary Poppins.
