Kasabian play gig that will "go down in history"

People with Kasabian tickets to see a recent Vevo Presents special gig were among only 200 who witnessed a show that will "go down in history".

These are the words of the foursome's frontman Tom Meighan, who spoke about the performance the band gave in a stripped-down jumbo jet near Leicester.

"We wanted to do something really memorable," he said. "Our fans are going to remember the day they saw us play in an aeroplane when they're old and grey."

Footage of the gig was released on the Vevo music website yesterday (September 19th), including clips of the group playing tracks from their new album Velociraptor!

Serge Pizzorno, guitarist in Kasabian, said the band had told Vevo they wanted to do a gig in a plane to "freak them out", but admitted it was the foursome that was "freaked out" when the organisers delivered on their wish.

The musicians released Velociraptor! yesterday and Pizzorno told AFP they had chosen the name partly because the dinosaurs seemed to be quite "glam-rock".
