Kasabian release Velociraptor!
Kasabian tickets may sell out fast as the band released their new album Velociraptor! today (September 19th) and explained to one news provider how they chose the unusual title.
Guitarist in the British foursome Serge Pizzorno told AFP there were several reasons the group was attracted to the name of the dinosaur, including its "glam-rock" style.
"We found out they had feathers," he explained, linking this to the boas worn in the 70s pop era, by stars such as David Bowie.
"They were hunting in packs of four," the guitarist added. "They were like a band and that's how they survived, they stuck together."
But it seems the decision to call the group's fourth album Velociraptor! was not always so profound.
"We just loved the word," Pizzorno admitted. "That was the initial attraction."
The band will tour the UK at the end of the year, starting in Belfast's Odyssey Arena on November 25th before going on to several locations across Britain, including Cardiff, Manchester and London's O2 Arena.
