Katy Perry tour kicks off with spectacular London show
Last night (March 17th) saw the new Katy Perry tour of the UK get underway in London.
Fans lucky enough to get tickets to the Hammersmith Apollo gig went wild as the pop star performed hits such as Firework, California Gurls and I Kissed a Girl.
Reviewing the concert, the Evening Standard's John Aizlewood praised Perry's stage presence as well as the stunning set.
"Perry is a commanding, gold-dust-coated force of nature, sliding through her guitarist's legs on I Kissed A Girl; crooning Not Like The Movies from a trapeze-style swing and somehow changing costume six times during Hot N Cold without leaving the stage and her show was a candy-scented, visually arresting, faintly ludicrous joy," the critic wrote.
The gig was Perry's first stop in the UK on her new California Dreams tour.
She has two more gigs scheduled for London tonight and tomorrow before heading to the O2 Apollo in Manchester on March 21st.
