Lady Gaga makes UK chart history
A third number one in 2009 has made Lady Gaga the female artist with the most chart-topping tracks in one year.
The singer's single Bad Romance knocked Peter Kay's Children in Need charity hit off the top spot in the latest chart run down.
Her album, The Fame, climbed ten places in the album chart to reach number two, behind Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream.
Lady Gaga currently has the best-selling album and single of the year, but Scottish star Boyle could overtake her in the remaining weeks of 2009.
The singer, known for pushing boundaries in her stage performances, has come under fire lately for flouting Canadian anti-smoking laws.
She reportedly lit up on stage during a show in Vancouver, British Columbia, despite smoking indoors being illegal in the province and could now face the wrath of the Canadian authorities.
Lady Gaga will start a UK tour next year, beginning at the MEN Arena in Manchester on February 18th.
