Lady Gaga named most played artist on UK radio in past year
Popstar Lady Gaga has won an award for being the artist to get the most radio plays on UK stations in the past twelve months.
The singer was revealed as the winning artists by industry monitor Nielsen Sounscan, having clocked up over 275,000 from tracks Bad Romance, Telephone and Alejandro.
The announcement was made last night at the Performing Right Society for Music Hall of Fame dinner in Manchester.
"Lady Gaga has had phenomenal success during 2010, ratcheting up an enormous number of radio plays in the last year," said Helena Kosinski from Nielsen Soundscan.
"With over 275,000 radio plays, she was clearly the front runner for this award," she added.
The songstress could not be there to collect the award in person.
Lady Gaga will be in the UK at the end of the month, however, when she begins a series of concerts starting at the Odyssey in Belfast on October 30th.
