Lady Gaga scoops eight MTV Video Music Awards
Singer Lady Gaga has picked up eight gongs at this year's MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Among her wins were the Video of the Year award for her hit song Bad Romance.
The 24-year-old, who began the evening nominated in 13 different categories, also took home prizes for female video, pop video, dance video, choreography, direction and editing.
Collecting the Video of the Year award, the star told the audience: "I was so nervous for tonight that I would let my fans down."
She then surprised fans by revealing the title of her next album, which will be called Born This Way.
She then sang a few lines from the title track of the record: "I'm beautiful in my way because God makes no mistakes. I'm on the right track baby. I was born this way."
Other artists to do well at the awards included Eminem, who won two gongs for Not Afraid.
Lady Gaga plays a number of UK gigs this year starting at the Odyssey in Belfast on October 30th.
