Lady Gaga's charity work receives recognition
People hoping to attend a Lady Gaga concert next year may be excited to hear the singer has been ranked as the most charitable celebrity.
DoSomething.org, an organisation which helps young people in the US support good causes, has released its top 20 list of famous people who have given something back to the world in 2011.
Lady Gaga was voted number one in 2010 and retained her position this year after continuing her advocacy work for HIV/Aids as well as developing her own charity.
The singer's organisation - the Born This Way Foundation - is already receiving 25 per cent of Barney's New York's profits despite the fact it has not yet been launched.
Additionally, the artist has been campaigning for anti-bullying legislation and has helped create a new lipstick for MAC cosmetics, with all proceeds going to the MAC Aids fund.
Lady Gaga tour tickets could be in even greater demand as fans get to hear of her charitable work, adding to what is already promising to be a rush for tickets.
Indeed, a teaser for the singer's latest 14-minute music video Marry the Night was watched around five million times in just the first 48 hours after its release.
