Lee Evans reveals his unusual childhood

People snapping up Lee Evans tickets to his latest show Roadrunner may be interested to know about how the funnyman grew up, which could tempt them to have a peek into his autobiography.

The book - The Life of Lee - will be released on Thursday (September 28th), but an excerpt has already been published in the Sun.

In the section printed in the newspaper, the comedian describes his unusual childhood on a Bristol housing estate with his father David.

Evans wrote about how his dad was a performer by night and a binman by day, but his riotous humour often gave way to a violent temper.

Those looking forward to a Lee Evans live show in their area may be interested to hear about the capers he got up to with his father, which could go some way to explain his silly onstage character.

A few anecdotes in the Sun's excerpt describe David's eccentricities, which once led him to chop up a piano and throw it out of a council house window.

The Roadrunner tour begins at London's O2 Arena tomorrow night (September 28th) and will travel to Belfast, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow, Sheffield, Liverpool and Aberdeen.
