Lewis Hamilton crashes in Japanese Grand Prix practice session
Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton crashed out of the first practice session of this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, admitting he was "pushing too hard too soon".
The McLaren ace was on his second fast lap of Friday's (October 8th) morning session when he ran wide on a corner and hit the barrier.
It meant he missed over two hours of practice and also damaged one of McLaren's new rear wings beyond repair.
The incident may well raise suspicions that the 2008 world champion needs to alter his agressive driving style, having also crashed out in the past two grands prix and so seriously damaging his title challenge.
"I was only on my second fast lap, and was probably pushing too hard too soon," he said.
"They say bad things come in threes - so after Monza, Singapore and today, I hope this run of bad luck is over and done with."
The Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka gets under way on Sunday (October 10th).
