Libertines enjoying high morale ahead of Reading and Leeds gigs
Gary Powell, drummer with the newly reformed Libertines, has said the band will be in good spirits when they play Reading and Leeds Festivals this summer.
The band broke up in 2004 and the relationship between frontmen Pete Doherty and Carl Barat deteriorated.
But they have since patched things up and play their first gigs since reforming this August at Reading and Leeds.
In an interview with the Sun, Powell admitted he had reservations about the reunion but that now everything is going well as they prepare for the festival shows.
"I did worry. But it's really refreshing to see them actually talking to each other. We go to the pub after rehearsals and play snooker. Morale is high," he told the news provider.
"There will be a few surprises but I reckon people will be more surprised to see all four of us back on stage," he added.
The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place between August 27th and 29th.
