Lionel Richie to be inducted to hall of fame

By the time the Lionel Richie tour comes to the UK, the singer will have been inducted into the Apollo Theater's hall of fame in New York City.

The artist has been producing pop music for more than 30 years, both with the Commodores and the solo tunes he recorded later.

On March 12th, he will release his latest album Tuskegee and Lionel Richie tickets are now on sale for fans to see him promote the new tracks in the UK later this year.

"He has shaped popular culture as his music has served as the soundtrack of several generations around the world," his website stated.

"His music has remained at the forefront of his fans' milestone moments - first kiss, first wedding dance, first break up, first child," it went on.

The singer will be inducted into the hall of fame on June 4th with a ceremony at Harlem theatre.

He will play four gigs in Ireland and Scotland in September, before performing at seven venues across England and Wales in October and November.
