Manic Street Preachers to mark anniversary with new album

Manic Street Preachers, who are among the bands set to entertain holders of V Festival tickets this month, have announced plans to put out a special album to celebrate the 21st anniversary of their first single.

National Treasures - The Complete Singles is due to be released in October.

It will bring together 38 songs spanning the band's history, ranging from Motown Junk, which came out in 1990, to tracks from their tenth studio album Postcards From a Young Man.

Fans will also be able to hear a brand new single among the collection, which will be made available in several formats.

Over the past two decades, the Manics have enjoyed chart success with songs like If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next and The Masses Against the Classes, both of which reached number one.

They will be playing the main stage at the V Festival this year, on the same day as the Script, Eminem and Rihanna.
