Mansell: McLaren can dominate Formula One for years
The McLaren duo of Brits Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button can dominate Formula One for years to come, Nigel Mansell has claimed.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's Cnadian Grand Prix, the former world champion said the team can achieve a similar to success to that of Ferrari when Michael Schumacher was in his prime.
"He [Schumacher] won championships year on year with that reliability which set unprecedented standards in Formula One," he commented.
"McLaren now, with the two drivers that they have, have an ability to do something equally as special again."
He claimed the combination of Button and Hamilton had "revived" McLaren but that they would need to keep the two drivers in order to realise the team's potential.
"The biggest thing you need in Formula One is to have continuity," said Mansell.
"If you have continuity you can build year on year with reliability."
The Canadian Formula One Grand Prix takes place on Sunday, June 13th, in Montreal.
