Mark Hoppus: The fun is back in Blink 182
Bassist and singer Mark Hoppus has said that the good times are back for Reading and Leeds Festival headliners Blink 182.
The band split up in 2005 amid deteriorating relationships between the three, formerly close friends.
But the band patched things up and are now touring and planning a new album to go with their Reading and Leeds performances.
Speaking to the Irish Times, Hoppus said: "Yes, the fun left the band for a few months right before we broke up.
"It was really starting to feel like work, and everything was very adversarial - a lot of vibes in the band."
He went on to say that a good sense of fun and humour has always been a fundamental part of the band, even if that has led to them being dismissed by some critics.
"We've been written off largely as just a joke, but we've always had one foot firmly in the jokey world - that's our personality," he told the news provider.
The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place from August 27th to 29th.
