Michael Buble Christmas album hits festive number one
The Michael Buble Christmas album hit the festive number one this year, selling as many as 317,000 copies in the week leading to December 25th.
Furthermore, this represents the second consecutive week the recording has held the top spot, with 269,000 copies purchased in the seven days to December 18th.
"I’m absolutely thrilled to be Christmas number one," the Canadian artist commented.
People hoping to get Michael Buble tour tickets may also be pleased with his enthusiasm about Britain.
"The UK is one of my favourite places to visit and it’s a real honour to have my record in so many fans’ homes this Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone," he stated.
Over a million units of the singer's album have been purchased in the last two months - only the fourth recording released this year to pass the one million mark - and it was the bestseller in December as a whole.
No Michael Buble tour dates have been announced for the UK as yet, although gigs in Europe, South Africa, South America and Mexico have been confirmed.
