My Chemical Romance 'honoured to headline Reading and Leeds Festival
Reading Festival 2011 headliners My Chemical Romance have said they are "honoured" to be performing at the event.
They have been named alongside the likes of Pulp, Muse and The Strokes as just some of the massive bands to be playing Reading and Leeds Festival.
And lead singer Gerard Way has revealed how excited the band is to be given equal billing to such acclaimed acts.
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, he said: "We're honoured to be sharing headlining with them. The Strokes are one of our all time favourite bands."
My Chemical Romance are looking forward to returning to the event after getting a mixed reaction last time the played the festival.
"It was a real cultural shift for the band. Something really awesome happened that day because there was a lot of negative tabloid press. Following Slayer was tough," said Way.
"It was a bit combative at first then it turned into this amazing thing by the end where everyone was singing along."
This year's Leeds and Reading Festival takes place between August 26th and 28th.
