Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds tour gets underway
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds tickets may be in strong demand after the former Oasis frontman kicked off the tour of his new project with a hometown gig in Manchester.
He played a set featuring a mixture of new songs and classic Oasis tracks, including Talk Tonight, Wonderwall and Supersonic.
Gallagher, a big Manchester City fan, divided the crowd by reminding them of City's 6-1 win over Manchester United at the weekend, with the BBC quoting him as saying onstage: "It actually happened."
Dave Simpson of the Guardian described it as a "solidly enjoyable pop gig rather than anything too adventurous", noting the crowd became "a massed choir" when he played acoustic Oasis tracks.
The Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds tour continues with a show in Edinburgh tonight (October 27th), followed by three shows in London.
An arena tour will also take place in February next year, with gigs in Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, London, Birmingham and Belfast.
