Novak Djokovic beats Tomas Berdych in front of Barclays ATP World Tour Finals tickets holders
Tennis fans with Barclays ATP World Tour Finals tickets witnessed an impressive Novak Djokovic victory yesterday (November 22nd).
The Serbian beat Czech Tomas Berdych 6-3, 6-3 in the opening Group A match at the London event.
It would have brought Djokovic a degree of revenge after Berdych knocked him out of the Wimbledon semi-finals earlier this year.
After the match, Djokovic speculated that the pressure of playing in the season finale for the first time may have impacted Berdych's game.
"When you have a first appearance at such a big tournament it's not easy to handle the pressure and expectations, and you could feel that, especially at the start of the match," he said.
"He made two double-faults in the opening game and to start off with a break was really important for me. I was trying to focus on my game and do the things I planned to do tactically with my coach, and I couldn't ask for a better start to the tournament."
In the day's other game, Rafael Nadal beat Andy Roddick 3-6, 7-6, 6-4.
