Paul Stanley of Kiss reveals his inner artist
People with tickets to see Kiss at Wembley Arena in London on May 12th and 13th may be interested to learn that lead guitarist and co-writer Paul Stanley is not all hard rock and heavy metal.
In an interview with Celebrity Extra, Stanley revealed that he started painting ten years ago as a way of finding another creative outlet, with no expectations of ever showing his work.
Touring around the country with his collection of paintings, however, Stanley's creations often sell for up to $70,000 (£45,000).
Stanley is as passionate about his art as he is his music, which has attracted attention from art buffs and Kiss fans alike.
He told Celebrity Extra: "I guess I'm out there trying to not only show people who are collectors of serious pieces, I'm also trying to show people who have never been in a gallery how much art has to offer.
"I came to art later than music in the sense of really applying myself to it, and at this point I can't imagine life without it."
Supportive band mate Gene Simmons has a painting Stanley did of the Statue of Liberty hung in his home.
