Peel called up to Wales Six Nations squad
Wales coach Warren Gatland has called up Dwayne Peel for the side's Six Nations clash with France.
Peel had been sidelined with a groin injury but has convinced Gatland he is ready to return to the national set-up after playing 80 minutes of Sale's recent match with Leeds.
Gatland said: "It was important for us to see Dwayne come through 80 minutes of rugby.
"But, once he proved his fitness, it's obvious that a player of his experience and talents would provide a welcome boost to any squad."
The 28-year-old has won 72 caps for his country and will come in to replace Scarlets' half-back Martin Roberts, who has been released from the squad.
However, Richie Rees, who impressed in Wales' two Six Nations games so far is likely to keep his place, meaning Peel will probably start on the bench.
Wales take on France at the Millennium stadium in Cardiff on Friday (February 26th).
Meanwhile, England face Ireland, and Scotland travel to Rome for a match with Italy.
