Peter Kay has spat with Liam Gallagher at Brit awards
Ticket holders to this week's (February 16th) Brit Awards were treated to the unexpected site of Peter Kay having a spat with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
The Bolton funny man, who was hosting the awards, upset the notoriously moody Mancunian when he went up to collect an award for best Brits album of the past 30 years, which went to (What's The Story) Morning Glory?
After a short acceptance speech, Gallagher hurled his award and microphone into the crowd, at which point Kay remarked: "what a K**bhead."
This led to a war of words on the internet with the singer posting a retaliatory tirade on Twitter after the show, calling Kay "fat" and implying he was not a "real northerner".
However, the incident did not seem to hinder Kay's enjoyment at hosting the ceremony. The next day he commented on his website: "It was the Brits last night and I was honoured to be asked to host the show."
"Congratulations to all the winners, including Noel Gallagher who sadly didn't get a mention (and who thankfully isn't a k**bhead)."
Peter Kay goes on a UK tour later this year, starting at Manchester's MEN Arena on April 27th.
