Peter Kay helping Rick Astley to make a comeback
Comedian Peter Kay is helping to re-launch the career of 80s pop star Rick Astley, it has been revealed.
The comedian has directed the video to the Never Gonna Give You Up star's new song, entitled Lights Out, the Sun reports.
"We've shot a video. It's basically a performance thing - me in a big arena," Astley told the news provider.
It follows the singer being enlisted by Kay to warm up the crowds at his recent residency at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
The two are reportedly good friends, having grown up nearby to one another in the north west of England.
"It's a great show to do," Astley recently told the Liverpool Daily Post. "The audience have such affection for Peter. The fact that he's sold out so many dates shows just how much people want to see him."
After completing his 20-night MEN Arena run this weekend, Peter Kay takes a break before returning to play the O2 Arena in London on November 4th.
