Peter Kay pens role for Terry Wogan
Comedian Peter Kay, whom ticket holders will be able to see live at the Manchester Evening News Arena from Tuesday 27th April as he embarks on a 20-night residency, wants Terry Wogan to appear in his TV programme Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere.
Kay wrote a part for Wogan, who recently left his breakfast time presenting role on BBC Radio 2, in 2004.
The veteran presenter, 71, would play a "baddie" in the one-off special Kay has penned, the star told The Sun.
He revealed: "We go to Ireland for a funeral. But we have been on a stag do and the only clothes we have are fancy dress."
The spin-off to Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights aired in 2004 and follows two characters from that series, Max and Paddy, as they travel around the UK.
Another special is also set for production, Kay confirmed.
It is a busy time for the comic, who hosted last week's Brit Awards. His comments about Liam Gallagher's behaviour at that event have become a YouTube sensation.
