Peter Kay to host Brit Awards
Peter Kay has been lined up to host next year's Brit Awards, the Sun has announced.
The Phoenix Nights star has reportedly already signed up to host the awards after talks with the event's organisers.
A source told the newspaper: "Peter was the clear first choice and everything has now been agreed.
"There's no one with a better pedigree or a better style of delivery which appeals to all ages."
The show, which will be held in February, will be the 30th anniversary of the award's ceremony and the insider revealed they needed a "big name" for the occasion.
It was also announced this week that Kay will host a charity show in Sheffield being held by Kay's friend and pop song writer Eliot Kennedy.
The show will feature a reunion gig by bands SClub and Blue, who Kennedy wrote songs for, the South Yorkshire Star reported.
Kay will be starting a 20 night residency at Manchester's MEN Arena starting on April 27th 2010. Tickets are available now at www.viagogo.co.uk.
