Price Tag heading for number one as Jessie J tickets go on sale
Today (February 4th) sees Jessie J tickets go on sale for the star's upcoming UK tour.
And it has been revealed that the singer could also be on course for her first number one single this week.
According to data from the Official Charts Company, Jessie J's second single Price Tag, featuring BoB, is top of the mid-week chart, ahead of Bruno Mars' Grenade.
The 22-year-old is benefiting from a new strategy by her record label Universal which saw the song released both on radio and for download at the same time.
Rival Sony has also decided to implement this technique, dubbed 'on air, on sale', but has not yet issued a new single, making Price Tag the first song to get a simultaneous release.
Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company, told the BBC: "She is showing that on air, on sale is just what the consumer wants."
Jessie J's UK tour kicks off at the O2 Academy in Glasgow on March 31st.
