Reading Festival expands capacity
More music fans may have the chance to get hold of tickets to this year's Reading Festival after the organisers announced an increase in capacity.
The local council has agreed to let Festival Republic, the company behind the event, release an extra 3,500 tickets for this year's festival.
In total, this will see the capacity of the musical extravaganza reach 82,000 members of the public, plus some 4,999 guests.
Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic, said: "Once again I would like to thank the council for its continued support of Reading Festival and for its help in ensuring Reading Festival maintains its pole position as the greatest rock festival in the world."
Next year will see even more tickets for Reading Festival go on sale with a further 3,500-person capacity extension agreed with Reading Borough Council.
This year's festival takes place on the last weekend of August, with headliners including Blink 182, Arcade Fire and Guns N Roses.
