Reading and Leeds Festival boss confident of Guns n Roses performing
Reading And Leeds Festivals boss Melvin Benn has said ticket holders should not be put off by rumours that headliners Guns n Roses are pulling out.
Speaking to NME, Benn said that the band would definitely be appearing at both festivals.
Fans became worried after a post on Axl Rose's Twitter account claimed that the band were cancelling all their upcoming shows.
But since then the message has been dismissed as a hoax by someone pretending to be Rose.
"I'm absolutely confident about them showing up," he told the news providers.
Describing what happened after he heard of the incident, Benn said: "There were probably four or five emails back and forth between 01:00BST and 03:00BST Monday morning,"
"[Guns n Roses'] agent was absolutely clear that it was false - it wasn't true. I think he was in the UK, but I think he'd spoken to Axl and he came back and said it was a false alarm."
The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place from August 27th to 29th.
