Reading and Leeds Festival tickets go on sale early to beat VAT
Sales of Reading Festival tickets and Leeds Festival tickets start today (December 3rd) in an effort to beat the government's rise in VAT.
A limited number of advanced tickets have gone on sale to the general public earlier than usual so that they can be bought before the post-Christmas VAT hike.
VAT is scheduled to increase from 17.5 per cent to 20 per cent on January 4th 2011.
"A limited number of tickets will be on sale at this year's prices until December 31st," commented organisers via the festivals' website.
"Avoid the rush and get in early! What's more, they are great Christmas gifts for friends, family or yourself!"
The line-up for the two festivals is yet to have been announced, with the bands playing unlikely to be revealed until spring.
However, it was recently rumoured that The Strokes could be a headliner after recording a new album.
The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place from August 26th to the 28th.
