Record labels 'fighting over Arctic Monkeys'

Arctic Monkeys, who will be entertaining fans with V Festival tickets this month, are reportedly at the centre of a record label bidding war.

The Sheffield rockers are currently signed up to Domino but, according to a source quoted by the Sun, are approaching the end of their contract.

Several labels are now thought to be interested in doing a deal with the band, whose albums Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not; Favourite Worst Nightmare; Humbug; and Suck It and See all reached the top of the charts in the UK.

The source said: "The boys' four-album deal is nearly finished and their management are ready to meet labels who fancy picking them up.

"Signing the Arctics would be a huge coup for anyone right now, because they are guaranteed to sell huge numbers."

The group are one of two high-profile and hugely successful acts topping the bill at the V Festival this year, with Eminem playing the other headline slot.
