Rod Stewart a 'Champion'
Rod Stewart fans who have tickets to his upcoming UK shows will be pleased to hear that he has received a Champions award.
The singer was given the accolade by the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) after he was voted for by readers of the Evening Times as putting on the most memorable concert at the SECC.
Stuart told the Evening Times: "Thank you very much for this award. It's no secret that I love coming to Scotland and we always have a great time here."
John Sharkey, chief executive of the SECC, added: "We are delighted to present our 10th Champion Award to Rod and to thank the Evening Times readers for their support. Coincidentally, Rod's Friday performance was his tenth appearance here over the last two decades."
Following his three performances in the SECC, the Maggie May singer will head to London, playing in the O2 arena on July 28th.
During his career, Rod Stewart has had nine UK number one albums, including his 2009 release Soulbook.
