Russell Howard ticket sales spare comedian from corporate gigs
Russell Howard tickets have been selling fast, meaning the comedian is free to avoid embarrassing ads and corporate gigs.
Speaking to the New Statesman, the Mock the Week panellist expressed gratitude for the success he's had on his satirical news show, Russell Howard's Good News, and in his stand-up tour.
"I'm lucky; I only have to do things that I enjoy," he admitted.?
The comedian explained that he had no interest in starring in adverts or hosting corporate events to earn extra cash.?
"I don't need that. It's just money, isn't it? Turning up to host the Stamp of the Year Awards or something like that... It's just greed, really."??
He also told the interviewer that he deliberately tries to live a normal life, believing that if he kept a lifestyle in line with his pay cheque he'd soon lose touch with reality.
"You won't be a particularly good stand-up comedian," Howard said, adding: "It would be stuff like: 'Y'know in the Ivy when the service is ridiculously good and everything tastes great, what's up with that?'."
Russell Howard recently added several new dates to his UK tour, starting at the LG Arena in Birmingham on December 14th.
