Schumacher hits back at critics
Michael Schumacher has hit back at the "showbusiness" pundits who have criticised his performances since returning to Formula One this year.
The seven-time world champion has struggled to find form since making his comeback after a three-year absence.
This has led to many questioning his ability to compete at the highest level.
Following the recent Canadian Grand Prix, BBC commentator Martin Brundle, a former driver and ex-teammate of Schumacher's, said the race was one of the German's worst ever.
But Schumacher remains unconcerned by such accusations.
"I don't think there are many guys around the world who, at 41, come back after a three year break and compete at this high a level," he said.
"I don't take them seriously because there are different elements to Formula One, and one part is showbusiness."
Schumacher will be hoping to prove the critics wrong with an improved performance this weekend when the
European Grand Prix in Valencia gets underway on Sunday (June 27th).
