Shaw ruled out of Scotland match
Fans with tickets for Saturday's Six Nations face off between Scotland and England at Murrayfield have been denied the chance to see Simon Shaw in action thanks to a shoulder injury.
The England lock left the field barely five minutes into England's defeat to Ireland at Twickenham on February 27th and an immediate return has been ruled out.
His replacement, Tom Palmer of Stade Francais, is one of a number of players Martin Johnson, the England coach, has called up to the squad to cover injuries.
Toby Flood is still struggling with a head injury sustained playing for his club, Leicester Tigers, so Northampton Saints' Shane Geraghty has joined the squad in case Flood is unable to recover in time.
Olly Morgan, Mike Tindall and Hendre Fourie have also been included.
Both Scotland and England have endured difficult Six Nations campaigns and Saturday's clash will be a chance to win back some pride.
Though England kicked off their campaign with successive victories over Wales and Italy, their performances were less than convincing and last Saturday's home loss has left Johnson's team lagging behind France.
Scotland have lost all three games they have played in this year's tournament so far, despite pushing both Wales and Italy to the wire.
