Smiths producer meets up with star as Morrissey tickets go on sale
With Morrissey tickets going on sale today (March 18th), it has emerged that the singer has become reacquainted with former collaborator Stephen Street.
Street helped produce a number of albums by Morrissey's former band The Smiths, including 1985's Meat Is Murder and 1986's The Queen Is Dead and continued to work with Morrissey after he launched his solo career.
However, 20 years ago the pair fell out, with some suspecting an argument surrounding songwriting royalties, and had not spoken to each other since.
But now, Street has revealed the two have put aside their differences and recently met up.
Writing on his website Stephenstreet.net, he said: "I recently met up with a certain Mr Morrissey for the first time in nearly 20 years. I think we were both apprehensive about meeting but after five minutes we were getting on so well it was truly a magical moment."
"I am so pleased to have met up with someone who has been such a big part of my musical journey after a prolonged period of time and I hope we can stay true friends for ever."
The news comes as Morrissey tickets for an upcoming UK tour go on sale. The tour kicks off at the Perth Theatre and Concert Hall on June 15th.
