Spectators of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo "will hold the memory forever"
People with Edinburgh Military Tattoo tickets will attend an unforgettable performance.
This is the view of the event's latest producer and chief executive Brigadier David Allfrey, who took up the reins this year.
"The pipes represent the very essence of Scotland’s national heritage," he argued.
"Everyone who has ever seen and heard them in this magical place will hold the memory forever," the expert added.
This year, the 90-minute show was held between August 5th and 27th and consisted of traditional performances like the Lone Piper as well as international acts including the German Mountain Army Band and the Brazilian Marine Corps Martial Band.
Spectators can expect something similar at the 2012 Edinburgh Military Tattoo - the three-week stint of which will begin on August 3rd - with Melbourne's Rats of Tobruk and the Top Secret Drum Corps from Switzerland among the confirmed visitors.
Furthermore, there will be special performances next year to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, including Scotland's Salute to the Monarch.
