Star backs PETA ahead of Justin Bieber tour

Justin Bieber is to tour the UK next year

Ahead of next year's Justin Bieber tour, the teen singer has backed a new campaign for animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The star features in a new ad for the group, in which he encourages people to adopt homeless animals.

Posing with his pet dog Sam in the ad, he says: "We moved to a city where we didn't really know anybody, so I kinda wanted a friend around. And Sam was kinda like that friend.

"My Dad and I used to go and hang out ... just go and visit the different animals and stuff. It's really important that people adopt. I really encourage going out to an animal shelter or a place where you can get a dog that has been abandoned or doesn't have a home."

Justin Bieber starts a UK tour next year, kicking things off at the NIA in Birmingham on March 4th.
