Steve Borthwick a doubt for final Six Nations match
England rugby captain Steve Borthwick is a doubt to face France in his team's final game of the Six Nations after picking up a knee injury.
The Saracens lock has consulted a specialist about the problem ahead of Martin Johnson's naming of his squad expected today (March 17th).
"Steve has gone for treatment for a long-term wear and tear issue he has got with his knee," Johnson said.
"He has to go and seek some advice. Hopefully it is just precautionary and he will be fine."
"Lots of guys carry things because they play a lot of rugby," the England coach added.
England could also be without wing Ugo Monye and outside-half Jonny
Wilkinson, after the pair suffered blows to the neck and head respectively during last week's draw with Scotland.
France meanwhile will be looking to complete a grand slam victory by beating England at the Stade de France on Saturday, March 20th.
In Saturday's other Six Nations fixtures, Italy play Wales in Cardiff and Ireland are at home to Scotland.
