Strictly Come Dancing in talks to bring in US dancer
The BBC is in talks to bring in a new dancer for next year's series of Strictly Come Dancing.
According to the News of the World, the show's bosses are lining up American Derek Hough who is currently a dancer on the US version of the show called Dancing with the Stars.
He has also previously been a judge on BBC1's DanceX alongside Strictly's Bruno Tonioli.
It is hoped the 24-year-old, a former world champion in Latin American dance, will bring added sex appeal to the show.
A Strictly Come Dancing source told the newspaper: "They'll pair him with a hot female celeb to make sparks fly. The veterans like Brendan Cole and James Jordan will feel very threatened."
This weekend will see the final of the current series of Strictly. Actor Ricky Whittle and his partner Natalie Lowe will face BBC Breakfast TV presenter Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan in next week's show where they will to take the stage for four dances each.
Strictly Come Dancing goes on a live tour next year starting at Manchester's MEN Arena on January 15th.
