Strictly star falls ill with 'man-flu'

Ricky Whittle will go on tour with Strictly Come Dancing in January

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ricky Whittle has been forced to cancel training after falling ill.

The Hollyoaks actor wrote on Twitter that he had come down with "man flu" and had vomited while on set.

"Been sick all day, man flu in full effect," he said. "Oooh dizzy spells will be fun during foxtrot tonight. Hopefully dancing can burn off the fever, filming outside isn't helping. Ooh it hurts." He later added: "That's done it, vomiting on set is not fun. Can't train tonight."

The incident is the latest in a long run of bad luck for the show's contestants. Ali Bastian and Laila Rouass are both carrying injuries while athlete Jade Johnson was forced to quit the competition after injuring her knee in training.

Whittle has also been experiencing some personal bad fortune of late after he was arrested last week for allegedly running over a photographer.

The 28 year-old spent ten hours in police custody before being released on bail without charge.

Strictly Come Dancing starts its live tour at Manchester's MEN Arena on January 15th 2010.
