T in the Park revellers urged to have a fun and safe festival

Music fans with T in the Park tickets have been advised to 'party hard but stay safe' this weekend.

With thousands of revellers already starting to descend on the festival site in Balado, Scotland, health experts are making use of social media to draw attention to the dangers of drink and drugs.

Specifically, all of those with T in the Park tickets will be able to make use of a free online guide to having a good time safely, with this including tips such as staying close to friends and making sure you get plenty of rest before driving home.

"We want people to have a great, safe and brilliant time, and have produced messages that we hope will support this," said Liam McLaughlin from Perth and Kinross Focus on Alcohol.

Among the acts due to take to the stage at Scotland's biggest musical festival this year are the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Beyonce and the Manic Street Preachers.
