The Specials to play "Best of British" Olympic Closing Ceremony
This year's The Specials tour will include a slot at the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony that claims to showcase the "Best of British" bands.
On August 12th, the group will take to the stage at London's Hyde Park for the final celebration concert of the international sporting tournament.
They will be supporting newly reformed 90s Britpop act Blur, alongside New Order, who also recently got back together.
It has only be a few years since The Specials announced their reunion, but they have played more than 100 gigs since then and sold out venues across the world.
"The Best of British is a fitting accolade," it said on the outfit's website, claiming the group have a reputation for being "one of the best live bands to grace the stage".
Fans dying to attend the Olympics Closing Ceremony may still be able to pick up The Specials tickets for the event, as they were released on February 24th.
