Toby Flood: Autumn internationals an 'acid test' for England
Leicester and England fly-half Toby Flood has claimed the national side must use the upcoming autumn internationals to prove their worth.
England ended their summer on a high with a 20-21 win away to Australia, after being beaten in the first Test.
Despite that win, a poor previous 12 months for England means there are still question marks over the team's ability, says Flood, and the side must prove itself this autumn.
"We won the second Test over in Australia but the sad thing was that we could have won both,'' he told the Leicester Mercury.
"The acid test for us now is how we kick on in the autumn. But the guys who were playing in that second Test will certainly go into the November series with a huge amount of confidence.''
England's first Test of the autumn internationals comes against New Zealand at Twickenham on November 6th.
They will also play games against Australia, Samoa and South Africa.
