V Festival tickets sell out in two hours

V Festival tickets for this year's event sold out in two hours when they were released on Friday (March 2nd).

The passes became available to the public at 10:00 GMT and were all gone by noon after music lovers clambered to book a place at the summer concert.

"Each year the festival goes from strength to strength and that's credit to the outstanding artists that take to the stages across the weekend and the fans that attend year-on-year, creating a unique atmosphere," festival director Simon Moran commented.

Indeed, some of the biggest names in the charts are on the bill for V Festival 2012, including headliners The Stone Roses and The Killers.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will also be on stage, as will Snow Patrol, Ed Sheeran, Tinie Tempah, David Guetta and Nicki Minaj.

The event will be held at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire on August 18th and 19th.

Those who cannot wait for the festival to begin can download a free smartphone app for the occasion that includes information and interviews.
