Waka Waka becomes best seller ahead of UK Shakira tour
Ahead of the upcoming UK Shakira tour, it has been revealed that the star's song for this year's World Cup has become a best seller.
According to the South Wales Echo, the official 2010 World Cup in South Africa song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), by Colombian singer Shakira and South African band Freshlyground, has sold over four million copies worldwide.
This makes it the best selling official World Cup song of all time, surpassing Ricky Martin's Copa de la Vida, which graced the 1998 tournament in France.
It was performed by Shakira and Freshlyground at the Kick-Off concert in Soweto on June 10th and at the World Cup final on July 11th.
The news comes as the 33-year-old songstress prepares to begin a UK tour.
She kicks things off at the MEN Arena on Manchester on December 14th before shows at Odyssey in Belfast and the SECC in Glasgow.
The UK tour winds up with a performance at London's O2 Arena on December 20th.
