Wasting Light makes it to US No 1 ahead of Foo Fighters tour
With Foo Fighters tickets in hot demand for their UK gigs this year, it has been announced that the band's latest album has gone to number one in the US charts.
Called Wasting Light, it is the Foo Fighters' eighth studio album but their first to hit the top of the charts in their homeland.
The record has now sold more than 235,000 copies in the US, according to tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan.
Foo Fighters' 2005 album In your Honor sold a total of more than 311,000, but only got to number two in the US.
Fans can get a chance to hear tracks from the record live later this year when the Foo Fighters play two shows at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes, taking place on June 2nd and 3rd.?
Both gigs will see support from Biffy Clyro, while the first night will also see Death Cab for Cutie perform and the second will see Jimmy Eat World take to the stage.
