We don't know how long we'll last, say Arctic Monkeys

People hoping to see one of the most exciting bands of the moment live in concert could be advised to get their Arctic Monkeys tickets soon, as there is no guarantee how long the band will be around.

In an interview with Spin magazine, the Sheffield foursome revealed that they have no interest in making a masterplan to ensure they stay in the music business for as long as possible.

Bassist Nick O'Malley said the group "really have got no plan at all" about how many records they will make or how long they will stay together for.

When asked if there are any long-running bands they might want to emulate, frontman Alex Turner said: "Not really anyone, because they all end up hating each other, don't they?

"I can't imagine being in my 60s playing. I'll try to keep the boots on as long as I can. I'm saying that now. Who knows how I'll feel."

Arctic Monkeys' latest album, Suck It and See, recently spent a week at the top of the UK charts and Turner and co will be performing material from the record during a series of concerts later this year.
