Website releases Strokes tribute album
Fans of the Strokes, who could be looking forward to seeing the band at the Reading Festival this year, can now hear a special album that has been launched to mark ten years since the release of their acclaimed record Is This It.
Stroked: A Tribute to Is This It has been made available as a free download by music website Stereogum.
It includes covers of all the songs on the album by different indie bands and artists, including Chelsea Wolfe, Real Estate, Wise Blood, Frankie Rose, Austra and Owen Pallett.
This is not the first time that Stereogum has put together a collection celebrating a great record, with previous releases paying tribute to Radiohead's OK Computer, Bjork's Post and Automatic for the People by REM.
Holders of Reading Festival tickets will be able to see the Strokes live when the New York band headline the main stage on Saturday August 27th.
