Will Young praised by Cheryl Cole
Will Young, the first ever winner of Pop Idol, has been praised by Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole.
Cole, who currently has the highest selling single this year with her debut solo offering Fight For This Love, spoke to Will for the latest issue of Attitude, which he guest-edited.
According to Digital Spy, Ms Cole told Will he had "helped" people to deal with being gay.
"They don't feel like they have to hide it anymore. They've watched you and think they can succeed and be open with their sexuality," she told him.
"I'm glad that shows like The X Factor are showing all the different types of people out there."
Will, who is currently promoting a greatest hits album is to play a number of dates in the UK next month.
Fans will want to snap up tickets for performances at the Manchester Apollo on November 15th and London's Hammersmith Apollo on November 21st and 22nd.
